Prolotheos: “I see that you have paid much attention to certain ancient existential questions about God and His relationship with human beings, especially the ones that really know Him and call themselves children, friends and even servants of God. I do encourage you to enlist these questions in our conversation, no matter how startling they may appear at first sight. So begin. Question away!

1. Why does it Occasionally Seem that God is Indifferent?

“The impression that God is indifferent to your situation comes from your inability to see the answers God has given to your prayers and claims. If God is in fact, silent (and He might choose to be silent) it is because the right time for Him to respond has not arrived, either because the circumstances are not appropriate or because you wouldn’t, at that moment, understand His answer. You should consider that in fact, even God’s silence is an answer to you. God is never indifferent to you or your life.

2. Why does it Occasionally Seem that God is Inconsistent?

“Again, the appearance that God is inconsistent is only a limited human impression, due to a misleading conclusion. God, in His absolute perfection, cannot ever be ultimately inconsistent with Himself. Sure, facts, and even acts of God and credit to God may sometimes appear contradicting, but ultimately, they are not. God’s logic is infinite, impenetrable, and beyond the creature’s total understanding. God’s plans unveil into His Universe Ages and you may be assured that while they now may look inconsistent, at the end of this age, they will look logical to man, even infinite, because God Himself is infinite. However, God is never, in any way, inconsistent.

3. Why does it Ocasionally Seem that God is Inconsequential?

“Nothing God does is inconsequential. The actions of God concerning human beings are of two orders: justice and providence. Justice reveals the universal goodness, truth and beauty (perfection) of God to his children. Providence is God supplying everything that man really needs, once he has chosen to follow God’s path. Again, it is your human incapacity to see God’s actions that lead to the misconception that God could be inconsequential. All that pertains to you matters to God and He always acts in regard to your ultimate well-being. Rest assured, God is never inconsequential.

“Thanks, my pupil, for these important questions about commonplace misconceptions about God that have troubled human beings from Job to nowadays. Simply put, God could never be indifferent, inconsistent or inconsequential, because He is, after all, perfect! However, God understands that those are questions that human beings, His children, sometimes harbor in their thoughts and, if they are sincere and honest, God is never tired of again and again answering them and showing them that He is never any of these!

Monjoronson: “Blessings, my child. It’s for me, too, an event of great satisfaction to speak with you this morning. The Magisterial Message must be spread over the entirety of Urantia, even before my full manifestation. That is why I am here even now, ahead of the official inauguration of the Magisterial Mission on your planet.

“As you well know, although we don’t manipulate human will, not even to ensure the success of the Will of God, in the celestial realm we do have trusted ways and personalities capable of predicting with a great margin of certainty in which direction the events of a planet will be heading. Firstly, we have similar experiences on other planets which, when compared to happenings on your planet, allow us to imagine what lies ahead if a similar course is to unfold. Secondly, we do have personalities, such as the Melchizedeks, who are capable of putting many details together and draw predictive conclusions if things were to be left undisturbed. And finally, we have authorities that are entitled to intervene when circumstances indicate that the damage caused to a race could be beyond acceptable if left without intervention. These beings are your Constellation Fathers, which without interference with the human will, can create situations that will confront unwise human decisions and put pressure on events to direct them to a more agreeable inclination with the will of God. That is what is called the ‘fullness of times’ of Michael’s days on Urantia. Similar conditions will also need to be present for my full manifestation.

“However, remember the thoughts of the Creator are not like your thoughts. God watches for the goodness of all people and for the longest time possible, while yours are, due to your limitations, also limited, perhaps to those who agree with you. My child, God’s measures on Urantia, cannot be called left or right, progressive or conservative. Your superiors having precise directions from your Sovereign, Christ Michael, may sometimes make use of conservative tendencies or progressive ones — which better serve the divine purpose. I understand that you think that progressive measures are always best, and there is no doubt they may contribute greatly to the development of a planet. However, Urantia is not only composed of progressive societies, as there are societies and even entire peoples that are greatly backward compared with your more advanced societies. If the gap between them is too big, it may become a great obstacle to the brotherhood of men and the sisterhood of women which should grow and dominate on Urantia. So be patient, for you are being guided to wise and tested principles by the wisest personalities in our local Universe of Nebadon.

“Your superiors on High do know that right now there is a conservative political wave in many nations on Urantia. Sadly, conservatism may lead to fundamentalism and that increases intolerance and the chance of major wars in your world. This, progressives abhor, it is true, but sometimes some risky measures are necessary to avoid other even graver ones, that is, the permanent or long and profound ‘disruption’ of societies, which for a long time could throw your world onto backward patterns of the past, losing important conquests of the twentieth century.

“Therefore my child, do not try to predict what God will do, because such an enterprise is almost futile, but be prepared to recognize the actions of God, when they do manifest on your world. I am Monjoronson, your Avonal Son, soon to be fully manifest on your world. Peace be with you!”

Dr. Mendoza: “The advancement of Medicine and the improvement of social and environmental conditions will be responsible for an incredible betterment of human health on Urantia as it has occurred on other planets that progressed beyond the ages of war, poverty and biological misuses of all kinds. The ages of Light and Life will witness astonishing progress in Human Health, and an increasing human lifespan to 300, 400 even 500 years. This is not an idea of Utopia. It will be the reality and it has already started with many medical advancements. Let’s then discuss this opportunity of how medicine will process this advancement in the future, specifically in three main fields:

“1. Increasing Knowledge of Pathology. Pathology is the study of diseases. It is the scientific study of what makes people sick that has culminated with the impressive progress in Medicine witnessed during the 20th Century. However, much is yet in store both for Pathology and Pharmaceutics. Each day scientists better understand the human body’s constitution and functions, Each day the pharmaceutics industry produces new and more effective medicines to diminish and cure Urantia’s diseases. Governments and private initiative of advanced nations have funded and sponsored much research into discovery of the cure for persistent diseases like cancer, AIDS, Alzheimer’s and more.

“2. Increasing Usage of Technology. Technology has advanced enormously the application of Chemistry in Pharmaceutics for lab exams and patient monitoring. Electronic devices have been a great help to first responders and in emergency rooms to stabilize patients. Medicine is now using electronic devices that control body functions, replace body parts and diagnose internal body malfunctions. Even more is possible for human beings to progress in the future. Medicine is and will be so linked to technology in time to come that its advance will literally defy belief. However, its increasing cost also makes medicine a luxury product for economic elites.

“3. Increasing Application of Genesiology. That is an archaic word for Eugenics — currently a politically incorrect word. However, it is what is meant that matters: a serious study and effective action to improve the genetic human stocks on Urantia. That is not playing God. It’s a necessary measure to put world population under quantitative and qualitative control. The physically, socially and morally degenerate are unnecessary burdens on society and cripple the moral and spiritual development of human beings on Urantia. Your planet suffers from the incompletion of the Adamic up-stepping bestowal. Science must do what that dispensation failed to provide.

“So, my friend, Medicine on your world has significantly advanced, thanks to these above-mentioned instances, but the best is still to come. Medicine will increasingly become more efficient, greatly advanced, and a conspicuously professional and ethical field. Many diseases of today will be history in the coming centuries. The many and diverse interactions among the countries and cultures, create a great risk for rapid dissemination of communicable diseases — the emerging challenge for this new century. We Midwayers can’t just give you the knowledge that you haven’t yet acquired, but as soon as it appears in any human mind, we will cultivate it.”

Prolotheos: “Eternity in Universal Philosophy is defined as cycles — unending cycles. One way to see the life of ascendant children of God is to understand it as a rising, infinite cycle. This idea connotes both repetition, progress and elevation. In life, events, situations, circumstances reappear as if they were running in circles, but they are only similar and dynamic cycles, because although they seem the same, they are not identical. Every human being experiences birth, life and death, but the specifics of each life, for although similar, are very distinct from each other. In this opportunity let us pause to reflect on the Seasons of Life and how to make the most of them. In general we can find three kinds of seasons in the life of mature human beings.

“The Season of Planning. Human beings usually do not do things randomly. As beings with personality, you also do not do things purely automatically or instinctively. You are capable of planning, capable of analyzing a move before performing the actual move. You can prepare and analyze your plans in your mind before executing them, to know what could be the possible consequences of your actions. There are also things that humans do without needing to plan them every time. Once you execute a certain action with success, you are capable of repeating it based on the previous experience. But, human beings spend much of their mental activity planning their actions, and rightly so, because to do things without thinking can have disastrous consequences.

“The Season of Doing. Those that spend too much time planning, but never doing are those who are afraid to take risks. Every action brings a possibility of failure. Humans, although intelligent beings, are incapable of covering all the possibilities, which the Deities and some Divine Sons can do to perfection, including the Deities of all universes, and the Divine Sons to specific areas of their jurisdiction. Actions have a tendency to produce unexpected results that sometimes cannot be corrected. In planning and evaluating the possible results one is liable to miss something important. However, to never act for being afraid of consequences is called cowardice. Experiences, good or bad, accrue to one’s personal growth. You cannot grow if you do not have the courage to do what you think is right and necessary.

“The Season of Rest. There are beings in the universe of universes who never need to rest. They were created for the function that is in their nature and for eternity they will discharge those functions without needing rest. That is not the case with human beings. Here in the morontia worlds and even in eternity, human beings always will need and enjoy seasons of worship, rest and play. Those are things that are done for the sake of themselves. In executing assigned works you contribute to goals beyond yourself. The seasons of worship, rest and play you perform to simply enjoy them. Worship, rest and play are as important and necessary as planning and doing. So, reserve time for rest, both physical, mental and spiritual.

“Therefore, my pupil, learn to discriminate between these seasons and again listen to the words of old: ‘There is a season for everything.’ To know what to do at the right moment is something that cannot be overvalued; it is essential to your life if you want to be in charge of it as much as you can be. Although perfect knowledge in these areas is almost impossible, you do have help available to you. First, listen to the Spirit Within incessantly guiding you towards the will of God. Also seek advice that more experienced people may have and research things that puzzle you. The answer is both within and out there. I am Prolotheos, your any-time available teacher and tutor. Teacher: Prolotheos: “Living is an interactive technique with the environment, with yourself and others. You are conditioned by the environment, but you can also modify it to your convenience. You are conscious of yourself and relate to the self by reflecting and making decisions. Others prompt you with the most meaningful kinds of relationships — personal interaction, and this includes God. Life may become stressful, disappointing and extremely distasteful if not put under control and managed wisely. Today, let us discuss how to live better with the self. Here are some suggestions:

1. — Let Small Things Go.

“Granted, small things can become big problems in life, but only if you let them become big and give them more importance than they deserve. On letting small things go, first, make sure what is and what is not important in your life. What is important to some may not be so important to others; therefore, it is an individual assessment. Small things may be outside of your range of decisions — things that may be big in scope, but over which you have no control — you cannot alter them. Or, small things are those that are not worthy of your reaction, because it may just be a waste of time or your response may make them worse. Every event has a consequence; however, some situations are better left alone. On determining what is small or not, pay attention to relationships, finances and health issues — usually those are not small and should not be left alone.

2. — Laugh at Yourself.

“It is dangerous to take yourself too seriously. Simply speaking, it shows a selfish and individualistic attitude, if not an exaggerated concept of self-importance. Laughing at the self must be a genuine attitude, not out of resentment or pretentiously. You really have to see yourself as silly by doing something that is really ridiculous. But, if you don’t see it, it won’t work. Irony, sarcasm or regret will not do it. In fact, only a balanced sense of your own importance will enable you to laugh at yourself. To be able to laugh at yourself, you must do some reflection to find out how ridiculous a particular situation really is. All of us, evolutionary creatures on the way to perfection — but not yet there — can do it because the alternative is to think we are perfect like the Gods and that is pretty ridiculous.

3. — Live a Day at a Time.

“Can we really do it differently? We can only live one day at a time — this time called Present. Many people surely do try to live more than a day at a time, by attempting to stay in the past or projecting themselves on the future. None of these are possible. All that happens is a failure to live or a failure to not live in the only dimension in which we can really live — the present. From the past we get experiences and by looking towards the future we exercise our hope; they together help us to keep our living in the present wiser and hopeful. Living a day at a time requires focusing on the tasks at hand, on the routines of the day-to-day daily duties. Life is many times very stressful and the temptation to avoid it is great. Face the challenges of your daily living with courage and enjoy leisure and relaxation. Living a day at a time is all you can do — why not enjoy it?

“Therefore, my pupil, living better is possible if you make the right use of these three simple techniques: Let small thing go, that is, know how to determine what is small in your life and don’t let them grow out of proportion. Genuinely laughing at yourself is evidence that you have reached a balanced perspective of the self. You can find your own silliness and laugh at it. Prolotheos: “Evolutionary religions are prone to create superstitions, myths, legends and fables. Although they are evolutionary creations, they are capable of expressing an ill-informed, but authentic spiritual faith. The facts may be wrong and useless, but the spiritual experiences they convey are of universal value because by faith, they make the transcendental leap from the circumscribed material sense to the spiritual dimension. True, this embryonic faith springs from evolution, however, because it is also transcendental, this evolution becomes a spiritual evolution, that starts in the beings’ native world and continues progressing to and through the morontia worlds on High. How does this faith progress from myths, legends, and fables to the robust faith of those who acknowledge themselves as children of the Universal Father and members of the human brotherhood?

1. Spiritual Agencies: “Human beings were never without spiritual assistance since the acquisition of personality. The spirits adjutants crown their earlier work over even the animal state with the functioning of the spirit of worship and the spirit of wisdom. At that point also began the ministry of the guardian angels, first to groups, then to individuals after the conquest of the third psychic circle, even enabling individuals to belong to the planetary reserve corps. Not only angelic beings assisted human beings in their early ages, but also other beings too as the Melchizedeks, which are of record on Urantia to have ministered to primitive man and later on in Abraham’s days. Those kinds of spiritual agencies still work today on your planet, in greater numbers and in the most efficient manner.

2. Spiritual Dispensations: “When human beings reach relative stages of biological, social, and spiritual maturity, the local universe sends its Sons to inaugurate a new spiritual dispensation. That occurred on Urantia on two occasions: with the coming of Caligastia as the Planetary Prince, as a civilizer ministry of Adam and Eve, as racial uplifters. Although these two dispensations were tragically miscarried and did thwart their otherwise normal and salutary effects, they were not a complete loss, and their limited benefits, especially on their cultural contribution to the formation of a civilization tinged with vestiges of their original religiosity. These vestiges are still present in today’s Urantia religions.

3. Spiritual Bestowals: “A Spiritual Bestowal in the local universe is a spiritual gift given to a planet. When Christ Michael decided to finish His Bestowal Program to acquire total sovereignty over His Universe He chose to do this on Urantia, as Jesus of Nazareth. That unscheduled, but most beneficial bestowal on your planet became the greatest spiritual influence not so for Urantia, but also for a whole on-looking universe. From that sprang two other important spiritual bestowals: the coming of the Spirit of Truth and the general outpouring of the Thought Adjusters. Those bestowals are currently also supported by two other universe initiatives: the 5th Epochal Revelation, the Urantia Papers, and the installation of the Correction Time, under the supervision of the now Prince Machiventa.

“Therefore, my pupil, faith progresses on a planet according to a series of spiritual interventions that start with the gift of personality and matures through spiritual agencies, dispensations, and bestowals. Of those, the most important being the Final Sovereignty Bestowal of Christ Michael with its unparalleled spiritual benefit superbly supported by the ministry of the Spirit of Truth and the Thought Adjusters pouring out over all normal Urantians, causing an unprecedented spiritual progress on Urantia for the last nearly 2000 years, although still dealing with retarding effects of the Lucifer Rebellion. Teacher Prolotheos: “True and absolute unity can only be found in the Trinity, in which the diversity of three existential Persons of deity is perfectly unified in one God. To understand unity, consider that there is no need for unity where there is no diversity, and diversity is made of units. In God, and in God’s creation, both diversity and individuality are real. In your quest for unity, make sure you will not destroy individuality, but look for commonalities among you. The vital questions for our message today are: What will unite your world? Which commonalities should you seek? Here are some of them…

“Contemplate first how your origin unites you all in civilization. Families, tribes and nations are all based in a common origin. Ancestry is the most powerful unifying element of the human race. However, when this is viewed in a restricted way, it is also the greatest divider among you. To unite the world you must value foremost the most distinctive origin of all: God. The day on which most humans will realize their common, divine ancestry in the One God, represented by their diverse deity concepts, will be the day when you start the human brotherhood based in the fatherhood of God.

“Next, think of how many goals could unite you in your endeavors. Common goals are capable of uniting you beyond blood. Having common goals is not simply having the same goals. Same goals can be pursued separately, but common goals require your cooperation in their pursuit. However, first the individuals need to espouse the same unifying goals, and then others will join in their worldwide pursuit. Many different goals are capable of unifying human beings, but to keep them together it is necessary to unify them in the supreme goal of doing the will of the God, both as individuals, and as a group.

“Lastly, consider how experience unites you with others, and how common experiences may unite the human race. Unfortunately, they usually are experiences of suffering that unite people, and most often, large unifying efforts come about in times of war. Natural tragedies and noble causes as to minimize the suffering of a particular group of people or nations, also bring about unity among the peoples. Still, the experience which should unite all peoples on Urantia, is the most basic of all – the experience of living. All peoples should basically enjoy good conditions of living, with equal access to employment, housing, health, education and leisure.

“Therefore, my pupil, Urantians already have the resources capable of uniting them – your common origins, common goals and common experiences. Now, use these resources in a global and equal manner to unify you as the human race. Not with seasonal campaigns, but with a program of a global government, with real political and economic power to gradually bring social equality among the nations, which will extinguish poverty and wars that today constitute your most backward features. Realize, once and for all that you are all brothers and sisters, children of one and only loving God. I am Prolotheos, your Teacher and Tutor on High.”
